"Valentine Scarf"

My Valentine scarf is a great Valentine day gift idea.

This scarf style may be worn by men, women and children. The length may be easily adjusted to suit a child.

Free Crochet Scarf Pattern

Materials: Main Color - 100g ball 8ply white yarn, 100g red 8ply yarn, 5.00mm crochet hook.

Measurements: Approximately 168cm [66.25ins] long, approximately 16.5cm [6.5ins] wide.

Tension: First 3 rows – approximately 4cm [1.5ins]

Stitches: Treble, Chain,.

Begin by working 26ch.

1st Row: Work 1tr into 3rd ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end. Turn.

2nd Row: Work 2ch, * [1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in next st, * miss next st, 1tr in next st. Repeat from * to end. Turn.

Join red yarn.

3rd & 4th Row: Work 2ch, * [1tr, 2ch, 1tr] into next 2ch sp, 1tr in top of next tr. Repeat from * to end, working last tr into top of 1st 2ch. Turn.

Repeat 3rd & 4th rows alternating colors every 2 rows until desired length is achieved, finishing with 1 white row.

Last Row: Work 2ch, 1tr in top of 1st tr, * 2 tr in sp, 1tr in top of next tr, 1tr in next tr, 1tr in next tr. Repeat from * finishing with 1tr into top of turning ch. Fasten off.

You may wish to finish your scarf with tassels or fringing, or decorate it with a rose motif.
