"Handmade Handbag"

This cute handmade handbag will hold just a few of the essentials for a night out.

It may also be used to hold decorative soaps. It looks attractive on the bathroom vanity, or given as a gift. Place a larger soap inside and use in the shower as a wash cloth.

This puff stitch women’s purse is handy for carrying cash or jewelry.

Use as a gift bag for small ornaments.

You may wish to line your handmade handbag with fabric. If so, this is easy enough to do.

Cut a round piece of fabric slightly larger than the base and a rectangular piece the same height as the bag and twice the width. Machine sew the two shorter sides of the rectangular piece together with wrong sides facing. Sew the rectangular piece around the edge of the circular piece of fabric easing to fit. Hem the top edge. Turn so that joins face the inside and hand sew the top of the lining to the inside of the handmade handbag, below the drawstring.

You may elongate the twisted cord if you wish, to make a shoulder strap or a carry handle. Just pull a loop up at the back of your handbag purse when you thread the twisted cord through the spaces in the purse pattern.

If you would like to make this pattern bigger, simply add more base rows and height rows, until you achieve the size you'd like.
