"Granny Square Rug"
My free granny square pattern is one of my favorite rugs.
These type of blanket designs make very striking bedspreads, as shown here.
This afghan rug pattern may be adapted to something as small as a pram cover, knee rug, afghan bed rug, or picnic blanket, or something as large as this bedspread.

To make up – Thread darning needle with burgundy yarn and sew motifs together using a flat seam.
I found it easier to lay all motifs flat on the floor 15 rows long, 12 rows wide. Begin the 1st row with a cream motif, followed by a 4th motif, then a pink motif, followed by a 3rd motif … Sew the seam between rows 1 & 2 all the way across, following with the seam between rows 3 & 4 etc. until all seams in this direction are sewn. Then join the seams running the opposite way.
I finished my granny square blanket with a tassel on each corner. You may use fringing if you prefer.
