Free Crochet Afghan Patterns

Thank you for crocheting along to the latest of my free crochet afghan patterns.

Crochet blankets made up of granny squares are among my favorite crochet projects.

The instructions for the cream granny squares given below, form the background for displaying the zodiac symbols we will add to our crochet afghan patterns later on.

Don't panic if you haven't finished all of your dusty pink granny squares yet, there will be plenty of time to catch up when we get to the "making and adding of the zodiac symbols" stage.

If you've chosen not to display zodiac symbols, flowers, Christmas motifs, or monogram letters on your crochet blanket, you might like to work your cream squares in the same way as the dusty pink granny squares. This will give you the same decorative corner spaces all the way into the center of your motif, instead of the plainer rows shown in the photograph above.

If the terminology used in this crochet blanket differs from what you're used to, check my equivalency tables for easy conversion.

If you are a beginner and need help learning how to crochet the stitches, my e-book “CROCHET MADE EASY”, will teach you how to crochet using easy to follow instructions and photographs, showing step by step how to work all the stitches you will need to create my free crochet projects. More information on my e-book contents page.
