are the perfect gift to keep little feet warm this winter.
crochet slippers slip on like a sock. They are really more like sock shoes, comfortable enough to walk around in before bed and to remain in for a cosy night’s sleep.
Children might like their
sock shoes decorated with pompoms, rosettes or crochet butterflies, or a monogram initial.

Make 2 alike.
Begin by working 4ch and join with a ss to form a ring.
1st Round: Work 3ch, 2tr into ring, *2ch, 3tr into ring, repeat from * twice more, ss into 3rd of 3ch. 2nd Round: Work 3ch, *1tr into each tr to corner, [2tr, 2ch, 2tr] into corner sp, repeat from * finishing with 1tr into each tr, 1ss into 3rd of 3ch.
Work in this manner until 4 rows have been completed. Fasten off.
Join chosen pieces of contrast together and work 1 more row in pattern. Fasten off.
Work as 1st Round of
large motif, and last Contrast Round. Fasten off.
Make up as for
adult slipper pattern, easing motifs to fit so that corners meet where they should.
lace by crocheting a length of chain 2 strands thick to the length desired and thread through the sps across the center of the 1st and 2nd small motifs. If you have plenty of yarn left, you may like to make a twisted cord instead of a length of chain.
You may easily vary the design by working alternate rows of Contrast and Main Color, or by using up left over bits and pieces of yarn creating a technicolor effect. Matching them to pyjamas or dressing gown is a nice idea too.
